As you probably can tell by now, choosing the colors for this site was also directed by emotions, as everything matters to me. I found a color palette named “Pretty Purple Snow”, compiled by Paper Heart Designs. In addition to that the color theme and the photo alongside of it really resonated with me, how fitting it would be that the colors of the paper doll site would be inspired by Paper Heart.

The weird thing was, when I was starting to think about the colors of the site and the brand, my first thought was “anything else but purple”. Then again - the decision wasn’t made with the brain but with a heart - as I truly fell in love with the scene where the car is covered in snow and the sun is trying its hardest to make it all better.

In Finland we do get our fair share from dealing with snow, not always in a good way. Digging your can from under it is a very everyday chore for me too in the winter season.

The colors on the scene might seem unnatural and fake, but I assure you: On the days when the ratio of light and the cold air is just right, the sun really does paint the soft pretty purple snow and sky like from a fairytale.
