Information Regarding Our Use of AI

I want to be open about our AI usage. Every single printable has been created in Adobe Illustrator by drawing it the traditional way directly as vector artwork. For now, I am the only one drawing the printables and if this changes, we will announce it.

I studied a Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Communication (Game Graphics) in 2016, and I use the skills I learned there to vectorize characters. For me, vectorization is just as calming and meditative an activity as paper crafting itself.

However, this is a very small company with very few resources. I dislike AI, but getting visibility online is brutally hard these days and in the end, AI is here to stay as a tool, whether I like it or not. I use it to create illustrative images from the paper doll characters to reinforce the message I want to convey: to encourage overwhelmed people to slow down and love themselves by offering a screen-free moment with gentle creativity.

In addition to illustrative images, I do use AI for marketing copy - the ones you might see in Meta ads. However, I always read and edit these copies to make sure they line up perfectly with the message I wish to convey.

Whenever I use AI, my goal is to minimize it. I learn from the copy it generates and over time I will develop a better ability to express myself in English. When it comes to illustrations, I do my best to use clear and detailed prompts to avoid generating images unnecessarily. If I ever get more wealthy, I will abandon AI and hire a real artist to paint the characters by hand. I compensate for my use of AI through the choices I make in my personal life and by advocating for eco-friendly paper dolls instead of mass-produced plastic ones.

Our printables will never be created by AI.
That is where I draw the line (pun intended).
